My name is Aisling, Irish for 'dream', and my parents must have had a premonition because dreaming is my favourite hobby. I grew up with my nine brothers and sisters in a village on the south coast of Ireland, with one foot in a boat and the other on dry land.
These days instead of the sea I look at the mountains of Aralar with my husband and two daughters in Lekunberri. This is the bluest, wettest, most windy place we could find in Navarra. I don't speak Irish any more but do my best to learn Basque. And instead of the Atlantic, there's the municipal pool.
There's a beautiful old university in Cork, where I did a BA in English and Latin, and subsequently a Masters in English. One way or another, languages and people have always been at the centre of my working days: teaching, material writing and coordinating. I am currently doing all three in adult programmes in CNAI.
The sea creates an addiction for challenge and change. CNAI provides plenty of both. But the best thing about being here is the tremendous team of professionals with whom it is a privilege and a pleasure to work.
